Round the World trip

Soon we will start with a trip around the world. We plan to reach Mongolia this summer and leave the Saharagelber somewhere over there. Right now I’m preparing for this.

The 300TD is nearly ready, I need to get other tyres (the AT tyres are already worn down).
Furthermore, the automatic gearbox has subtle shifting problems, I hope I can have that fixed on time.

We need to find out and do a lot of things before we can take off.

I’ll write about my preparations here.

Got the Saharagelber back. I brought it to Klasse Klassiek for a health check-up.
some gaskets were changed, brakes were done, rubber engine stuts replaced as some more default things.

    Hey!

I’ve found your blog in one of mine “going arround the web insomnia nights” and I have to say – it’s fantastic.

I would love to have a w123 (a t modell, or the sedan) and i’ve found one or two in good shape, but most of the existent ones here (I’m Portuguese) are either in a bad shape, ready to go to a junk yard, or very well guarded in a garage to used as a week-end car, and those are a bit too expensive for me…

Anyway, I haven’t given up finding one for me, and who knows, take it in a few adventures too…

Just wanted to wish all the best and for you to keep criusn’ the world =)

    Best resgards from Portugal!

    Carlos
