Very interested in your photo expose. Especially the trip in Africa. While you were there, did you happen to stumble into any Jatropha Curcas plantations? I’m really fascinated with the tree’s oil yield and how it can be interspersed with food crops such as soy beans without occupying any additional space.

Anyway, let me know if they’re using jatropha curcas in Africa.

It’s amazing all the trips you’ve been too with you car!
I was wondering… how do you support yourself? I mean, how can you afford all the fuel, spare parts, lodging, food…

Hello from Tucson, AZ USA. I enjoy your photos of your adventures, I am working on a 240d myself and you got me thinking about veggie oil again. Anyway, FYI you can probably run your 230 E on ethanol, as far as I know much cleaner, less vibration and heat, less sludge in the oil, and you can make it from lots of starchy plants (though making it while on the road it may be inconvenient). Anyway, thanks very much for putting together the site, I look forward to browsing more ^^.

My 300TD belonged to a veritable “little old lady”, and had a mere 35,000 miles on her when purchased. In near showroom quality, I’ve been reticent to do some of the mods you’ve done, but would really like to know where you purchased that rack?

Jaja, ik wist het meteen Wat leuk dat je hier verzeild bent geraakt.
Inderdaad is dit iets heel anders maar op een andere manier heel erg leuk en ook beter voor de veiligheid, je stopt vanzelf met hard rijden

Je bent nu zelf ook aan de Mercedes?

So cool to hear you’re planning to travel with a W123 to the Middle East and Northern Africa! It’s gonna be quite a hassle I guess, to travel through Libya as you need a constant guide and an invitation.

The rooftent is very easy, handy and nice. The tent is a success on every trip. If you need one I can give you the address where I bought it.

Which tyres are you referring to?

My friend and also have a 300 td (375000 km) and are planning a great trip to the middle east ; we might even go round the mediterranean if we can deal with the paperworks for Egypt, Lybia and Algeria

Lookig at your car, i was wondering what is your roof tent, and your opinion of it ?
Same thing for your tires ? Vhat sise and type are they ? Did you fit them with tubes ?
How do they drive ?
