Wow, such great pics and trips. I admire your setup immensely!
I have the same color '83 300TD. Where did you get your roof rack or did you assemble it yourself?
Awesome site!
Thanks for sharing!

Wow what a trip! You travelled through a lot of countries and exceeded more than 4000 miles with that car. Did you have any complications at all? I can hardly imagine it being all smooth with all that tough surface in Africa. But simply brilliant a lot of respect to you for having done this.

w123 is the best car ever made. Strong, big but with all this is very easy to drive.
I had a few crashes with my old 300D w124, and my car remaines almost intact, compare to the others.
I drived it through mud roads, rocky road, forest roads, roads where few cars can go, and it was no difficult for my 300D with Hankook w440 tires.
Now I bought a w124 250D (because of the lower taxes in Romania).
I wish you all have nices journeys and no problems.

Hello Jurgen,
I am currently at the end of a trip in a setup with my own 300TD. You have been a truly inspirational traveler to learn from; I am looking forward to the day I go from Alaska to Argentina in my trusty 1982 W123 300TD, or perhaps a G-Wagen.

You can check some diary entries and pictures at http://300TD.blogspot.com/

Thanks and keep up the blog! Would love to see more soon!

Hallo Jurgen,
Filip

Very inspiring! Do you know of a good winch system to install on a 123 sedan? Also do you have the Mercedes part number and a source for the "Unterbodenschutz"?
