Mercedes 300d turbo
This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D shows 127k miles and is reportedly a three-owner example that has been in Florida since new. Purchased by the original owner at Lokey Mercedes-Benz in Clearwater, Florida, this W123 sedan is powered by a 3.0L OM617 5-cylinder turbodiesel engine paired to an automatic gearbox. The car was detailed and serviced upon the seller’s purchase last year. It is being offered with an original window sticker, pre-delivery inspection sheet, stamped service book, some service records, an accident-free Carfax, and a clean Florida title.
Light ivory (623) paint was extensively detailed by the seller and appears in good condition with some spider-webbing of the finish under close inspection. A small spot under the trunk lip trim and behind the right rear passenger door handle were treated with anti-rust paint and Mercedes touch-up paint to prevent further corrosion.
Badging and trim look complete and factory 14” alloy Bundt wheels are wrapped with older tires that reportedly have about 6/32″ tread remaining. Hella H4 headlamp conversions are installed and rear brake lamps have been updated. The rear window seal is dried out and should be replaced but a new original equipment seal and Mercedes-Benz sealant is included in the sale. Windows have been professionally tinted and an aftermarket third brake light has been installed on the parcel shelf.
Inside, the Palomino (134) MB-Tex seats appear taut and even-pleated. A small area of wear is present on the driver’s seat bolster. The driver’s door has been modified with a rear armrest, but the original handle and trim go with the car and are said to be easily reversible if desired. Original loop carpeting appears clean and are covered with Mercedes matching color floor mats.
This example was originally optioned with central locking, a Becker Europa cassette stereo, and a power sunroof, all of which are said to function properly. According to the seller, the A/C is weak and is still an R12 system. The dashboard appears to be in good condition. Instrument cluster lights have been changed, and a new spare tire and original Mercedes safety triangle and toolkit are included in the trunk.
The 3.0 liter OM617 five-cylinder turbodiesel engine is mated to an automatic transmission and was serviced upon the seller’s purchase with new motor mounts, fluids, filters, fan belts, and hoses. It is said to run well and shift smoothly following an updated K1 valve from Mercedes.
A factory window sticker from Lokey Motor Company lists the optioned sunroof, Becker Europa stereo, and shows an MSRP of $30, 642.
No accidents are disclosed on the provided Carfax, and a stamped maintenance book from the original owner, some records from the second owner, and detailed receipts from the seller are included in the sale.
